It’s finally time to unpack those Easter baskets and gather up a few sweet treats and gifts to bestow upon the kiddos. Of course everyone deserves a treat this time of year, but it’s the kids who’ll really enjoy an overflowing basket. After interviewing other parents, both here at Forbes and elsewhere, I’ve put together the best Easter basket ideas for kids, including the best gifts for babies, toddlers and big kids. Our editors’ favorites include Jellycat’s touch-and-feel board books and plush animals, delightful musical eggs, and spring-ready sandals and swimsuits.
Many of the parents I spoke to say they prefer to stock their kids’ Easter baskets with spring items, outdoor toys and summer clothing and accessories. “I always try to get my kids excited for warmer weather and getting outside by filling their basket with things that will inspire spring and summer fun like bubbles, beach toys, chalk, a new swimsuit or beach towel,” says Alyson Bran, a mom to two children in Maine. Nicole Burg, a former recruiting coordinator at Forbes, also fills her children’s Easter baskets with bathing suits and seasonal items. “I grew up in California, and we always got a new swimsuit, a pair of sandals and a new beach towel in our basket,” she says.
With all this in mind, read on for the best Easter basket ideas for kids in 2025. For older (and arguably, pickier) recipients, don’t miss my story on the best Easter basket ideas for teens.

I love the way these watercolor gel crayons glide right over the page, allowing kids to get really animated in their projects.

Get Baby Beach Ready
Tea Collection Rash Guard Baby Swimsuit
They’ll be ready to hit the pool or beach in this adorable ocean-themed zip-up suit. The long sleeves and built-in UPF 50+ sun protection help protect baby’s delicate skin. The polyester and spandex blend provides a comfortable fit, though in my experience Tea runs a bit slimmer and snugger than Hanna Andersson and other children’s brands. I’ve found Tea swimsuits to be durable and of the best quality over the years, and they come in fun prints that really appeal to little ones.
A Touch-And-Feel Baby Book
Jellycat 'If I Were A Bunny' Board Book
I love these soft, touch and feel Jellycat baby books. They come in all sorts of animal themes, from unicorns to monkeys, but the bunny, duck and lamb versions make ideal Easter basket ideas for babies and toddlers. Cory Baldwin, executive director of commerce and content strategy at Forbes Vetted, is also a fan of these gifts for her young daughters who aren’t ready for candy. “The books are bright and engaging for little ones and were a favorite from pretty much as soon as she could focus her eyes on a page,” she says.

These new Brio letter trains allow you to gift your child their name spelled out on the tracks. The train pieces connect via magnets for a colorful display. We’ve tried plenty of different brands over the years, but I always come back to Crayola for it vibrant colors and more durable chalk pieces.

Shashibo Shape Shifting Box
These magnetic puzzle cubes offer kids a new take on their much-loved Rubik’s Cube. The Shashibo Shape Shifting Box opens up and bends, so they can recompile the box in different ways and into new shapes. The pieces click back together via magnets and can be combined with additional cubes to make more shapes. These cubes come in all sorts of prints and patterns like this limited edition Cotton Candy cube made for Easter. My kids certainly can’t get enough of them.
A Perfect Easter Set From Lego
Lego Creator 3-In-1 Cute Bunny
This Lego bunny and her carrot are the perfect addition to any kid’s Easter basket. She’s just over 7 inches tall and takes about 325 pieces to put together. Kids can keep her on display or work her into games. This set can also be built into two other characters: a llama or a seal. Each animal has posable parts, so the rabbit’s head, legs, ears and mouth can move.
Raise And Release Their Own Butterflies

The set comes with three pastel-hued eggs they can “hatch” with the included bottle and the power of water, two already hatched figurines and mini pacifiers for their “babies” once they’ve emerged.
A Playable Keychain
Fizz Creations Pac-Man Keyring Arcade Game
Add this playable keychain to their basket for a quick round of retro gaming. This one hangs from my 10-year-old’s backpack and he and his buddies love to play it for a few minutes on the way to school, despite their Nintendo and PlayStation consoles at home.
A Magical Dragon Egg
CrystaLynx Dragon Figure
This flashy dragon egg is sure to add a dose of excitement to their basket. The egg opens to reveal a dragon with articulated and flexible joints, so kids can hold them in their hand and move them around. There are more than 20 dragons to choose from and collect. This one is for ages 8 and up.
Size Up Their Crocs
Crocs' Kids Classic Clog
If your kids live in Crocs’ Classic Clogs during the warmer months like mine do, Easter is the perfect time to size them up—or offer them a new style like the Cruiser Sandal or a fresh pack of Jibbitz to accessorize their shoes. Crocs really encourages kids to personalize their pair with Jibbitz but also with fun character-themed clogs and plenty of variety in colorways.
The Perfect Spring Suit
Hanna Andersson Two-Piece Swimsuit
It’s easy to get excited about the coming season with this colorful bathing suit from Hanna Andersson. The brand is one of my go-to choices for kids’ suits as they hold up well, swim after swim, and block 97% of the sun’s harmful rays. They also come in many adorable prints and styles, including one-piece, two pieces and short- or long-sleeve rashguard options. They’re roomy, comfortable and fit well, too. This one is made from recycled polyester and nylon as well a spandex blend.
The Perfect Football Size For Kids
Franklin Sports Football Grip-Rite 100 Junior
This softer and easier-to-grip Franklin Sports football is game-ready for grade-schoolers or anyone in the family who enjoys a casual game of catch or flag football with friends. It’s 10 x 6 inches, so smaller than regulation but not just for tots. At about $10, it also makes a great Easter basket filler for kids.
The Coolest Little Figures
USA-Made
I discovered these 3D printed collectible toys at the New York City Toy Fair this year thanks to my sister-in-law Stephanie Sala, an independent toy store owner in the San Francisco Bay Area—and neither my kids nor I can get enough of them. The Wigglitz come in all sorts of creature forms and they seem to move in your hand thanks to their articulated pieces. They’re also incredibly lifelike given the detailed design, even if they’re each only about an inch long. Scoop up a random bundle of these little fidget play figures for your child’s basket or pick out a custom bundle with all their favorite creatures; we particularly like the possum, octopus, sloth and axolotl. They were created with a biodegradable PLA (a bioplastic) derived from cornstarch by a couple in Utah and continue to be manufactured right there.
So They Can Take Their Magna-Tiles On The Road
Magna-Tiles MicroMags Travel Set
If there’s one toy that my kids have played with more than any other over their childhoods, it would be a hard call between Magna-Tiles and Lego. I love this new MicroMags travel set from the brand for portable playtime and building fun wherever we are whether on the plane, vacation or just in the waiting room. It includes 26 pieces in a carry case, so they’ll have to stretch their imaginations to discover what and how much they can build with it.
A Fun Toothbrush To Remove All That Sugar
Colgate Kids Battery Powered Toothbrush
These lightweight, battery operated toothbrushes from Colgate come in a variety of cheerful kid-friendly characters that might just encourage them to take a little longer to brush all that Easter sugar away. They’re surprising gentle and quiet, which is why my children probably don’t mind them. Choose from Bluey, a unicorn, Pokémon and other characters.
A Tube Of Mini Building Blocks
Plus Plus Unicorn 70-Piece Tube
This Plus Plus tube of mini interlocking building blocks offers 70 pieces and the directions to build a unicorn, but parents can also choose from among dozens of other options, such as this T-Rex or this airplane. My kids always light up when offered a new Plus Plus tube challenge. (Just keep these mini bricks out of reach from babies and pets—I speak from experience on the latter.)
The Hoop That Anyone Can Catch
Toysmith Mini Beamo 16-Inch Flying Hoop
The foam Beamo sails through the air and is easy (and less scary) for even young children to catch, because it’s soft and lightweight. It’s also easier to snag it from any angle with the hole in the middle. Stuff this kid-friendly flying disc into the back of your active child’s basket and be ready to play at your next park excursion.
A Mini Me Gardening Set
USA-Made
Green Toys Watering Can Set
This miniature gardening set is the perfect Easter basket idea for toddlers and preschoolers who always want to copy their grown-ups. Now they can follow you along as you plant, mulch and water the garden this spring. They also make great beach toys.
All Their Favorite Creatures In One Toob
Safari Ltd. Insects Toob
If you have a creepy-crawly fan, this narrow Insects Toob from Safari Ltd. might appeal more than all the cutesy Easter toys and accessories. I love these Toobs for preschoolers who are still deep into imaginary play. This one includes 14 figurines, such as a caterpillar, dragonfly, centipede, grasshopper and more insects, but you can also find Toobs of career people, dinosaurs and plenty of other creatures.
An Extra Special Bath Bomb
I love to include a fun bath bomb in my kids’ Easter baskets, and Lush always turns out some special limited-edition treats. I’m eyeing its Easter collection of bunny-shaped bath bombs, but also this Minecraft collab, which I know my younger kids will like. Besides its spot-on Creeper design, it infuses the bath with a lemongrass and bergamot scent and a green hue sure to please kids.

It comes with three charms, including a gem-covered star and an alien, along with an assortment of beads and shapes to add to their creations. The set includes a 26-inch and a 10-inch cord to design multiple pieces of jewelry. Choose from among several themed mini sets or go for a full-size Super Smalls bead, craft or play kit. I also like this Make It Purple mini kit and this Super Smalls bracelet-making set.
